Greater Merseyside Connexions

Connexions provides impartial, high quality information, advice and guidance to over 140,000 young people in Greater Merseyside each year. It is an independent, impartial organisation with well established networks and a strong track record in multi-agency working for young people. Connexions employs personal advisers who are specially trained to listen to the views of young people and help them make decisions about their future that are right for them.

The Connexions Adviser linked to South Sefton 6th Form College is Mark Blagbrough. In college Mark is able to help in the following ways:

* Provide advice on how to make the most of your education and help with any decisions you need to make about your career choice.
* Offer support and advice if you are at risk of not completing your studies for any reason.
* Listen to any problems you may have and provide support to help you overcome them.
* Liaise with organisations and specialist agencies on your behalf.
* Provide an assessment of any needs you may have and agree what should be done to help.
* Offer careers information advice and guidance if you are unsure about your choices or want to review your career goals.
* Advise you of suitable vacancies and apprenticeships that we are notified about.
* Ask your views about the service and whether they meet your needs.

Connexions also offer support, information and guidance on a lot of other issues including -

* Health issues.
* Drugs and alcohol problems.
* Relationships, including teenage parenthood.
* Money.
* Personal development.
