Computers
The college is furnished with modern, powerful computers for you to use in class, in the LRC or in the Internet Cafe. You will be given a username and log in password to access the college network and only registered students are allowed to use the computers. Please keep your password safe and confidential. If you forget your password you can have it reset at the LRC desk or the IT Technicians office.
All computers are connected to a printer and all have a USB port to allow you to save your work on a mobile storage device such as a memory stick.
Any issues, comments or suggestions regarding the use of computers in the college should be directed to James Sambrooks the IT technician whose office is on the ground floor next to the Cafe.
Email, Moodle and Web Support
All the PCs and Apple Macs in the college have access to the Internet. There are certain restrictions on what web sites can be viewed and these have been set by Sefton Council to stop access to material that may be offensive. The college has an 'Acceptable Use Policy' which applies to all students and is taken very seriously.
You will be given an Email account for use whilst at the college. You can use this to email your tutor and send coursework etc. If you forget your email password please go to the desk at the LRC.
You will also have access to the college Virtual Learning Environment for your chosen A level subjects. WIthin this site you can download any coursework you may have missed through absence, upload homework and assignments to your tutor or join discussion groups with your colleague.
News
We now have the Adobe Masterworks Collection on all computers in the college allowing you to use web design, animation, illustration, sound, video and photo editing software anywhere in the college.
Printing and Photocopying
All students will now have to type in their code to 'release' their print outs and will also have to type in a subject related code to photocopy. This will allow the college to monitor usage of the equipment.
